London Tube closures December 29-31: See the full list
As we approach the final weekend of 2023, it’s important to review the scheduled closures by TfL (Transport for London) from Friday to Sunday.
Similar to most weekends, there will be some stations that will either be completely closed or have partial closures to allow TfL to carry out essential maintenance and improvements. We have compiled a brief summary of the work happening this weekend to ensure that you are well-prepared and won’t face any inconveniences during your New Year celebrations.

Here’s a breakdown of the closures for this weekend:
Friday, December 29th:
London Overground: From Boxing Day (December 26th) to Friday, December 29th, there will be no service between Highbury & Islington and New Cross Gate / New Cross / Clapham Junction. Replacement buses will be in operation.
Waterloo & City Line: The service will run from Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 00:30, but there will be no service on Saturdays, Sundays, or on public/bank holidays.
Saturday, December 30th:
London Overground: From Saturday, December 30th, until Monday, January 1st, there will be no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction. Replacement buses will be available.
Sunday, December 31st:
DLR (Docklands Light Railway): From Wednesday, December 27th, to Saturday, December 30th, there will be no service between Bank / Tower Gateway and Poplar / Canary Wharf. Replacement buses will operate between Tower Gateway and Canary Wharf.
Elizabeth Line: At the time of writing, there are no planned works or closures for this line.
London Overground: From Saturday, December 30th, until Monday, January 1st, there will be no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction. Replacement buses will be in operation.
Waterloo & City Line: The service will run from Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 00:30 only, with no service on Saturdays, Sundays, or public/bank holidays.
