All schools within the Corporation-led multi-academy trust have been rated ‘Good’ or better by Ofsted, with 50% now graded as ‘Outstanding.’
Mark Emmerson, Chief Executive Officer of City of London Academies Trust, expressed his pride, saying:
“We have high ambitions for all our students across CoLAT schools. These results are a true reflection of the dedication and effort shown by our students and teachers. We set high expectations for ourselves and our students, and I am incredibly proud of their academic accomplishments. This summer, our founding academy in Southwark achieved its best A-level and GCSE results ever, while our newest sixth form in Islington saw its first students accepted into Cambridge, with all students securing offers from Russell Group universities.
Together with the City of London Corporation, we are helping more young Londoners reach their potential in what we believe is the global capital of education.”
The schools are part of the City of London Academies Trust, which oversees the City of London Corporation’s sponsored academies. The Corporation sponsors ten high-performing academies across Hackney, Islington, Newham, and Southwark through the Trust. It also serves as the local education authority for a maintained primary school in the City of London and owns four independent schools.
Catherine McGuinness, Chair of the City of London Academies Trust Board, added:
“Congratulations to the class of 2024. Your hard work, resilience, and determination have paid off, and we wish you all the best as you move on to the next stage of your lives.”
