Bartholomew Fair, which traces its roots back to the 12th century and was last held in 1855, has been revived in grand style as part of the City of London Corporation’s visionary Destination City program. This program aims to make the Square Mile a world-leading leisure destination for both UK and international visitors, workers, and residents, offering an extraordinary celebration of contemporary culture and the City of London’s rich heritage.
Bartholomew Fair Revival full programme highlights
Prepare to be mesmerized by the world-premiere performances at Bartholomew Fair. RESURGAM, a stunning vertical dance performance by the acclaimed US-based vertical dance company BANDALOOP, will grace the façade of St. Paul’s Cathedral, providing a breathtaking spectacle. Meanwhile, Dinner for All, an immersive theatrical circus experience by Gorilla Circus, will take you on a journey through the rich history of Bartholomew Fair, promising daring and impressive circus stunts.

Week by week highlights
Week one (31st August – 2nd September) will feature the awe-inspiring RESURGAM performance on St Paul’s Cathedral, the punchy and provocative 1133 by KIT GREEN, the explosive multi-disciplinary circus show Primus 15ft6, and the hilarious Funny Business by Fraser Hooper.
Week two (7th – 9th September) brings Dinner for All, the interactive Eau de Memoire by Miss High Leg Kicks, the big puppet singalong show The Lips, and the captivating Follow Me Into projection installations by imitating the dog.
In week three (14th – 16th September), prepare for Carnesky’s Showwomxn Sideshow Spectacular on Grand Avenue in Smithfield Market and Cloth Fair, the larger-than-life stilt performance White Wings, the mesmerizing Spark! performance by Worldbeaters, and the unique one-man show by Mat Ricardo.
