South east London roads closed by fallen trees after Storm Isha
newsroom
The Met Office issued several weather advisories, including two amber wind warnings, across the nation starting from Sunday (January 22), as Storm Isha made its presence felt.
Travelers by train, sea, and air are anticipated to encounter disruptions, with expected closures, cancellations, and delays affecting various services.
Forecasters also caution about potential damage to properties and buildings, toppled trees, power outages, airborne debris, large waves, and possible flooding in certain areas. Therefore, a list of road closures caused by Storm Isha has been put together based on the latest information from AA Maps today:
- Southborough Lane, Bromley: A tree has fallen, partially obstructing the road. Detours are in effect for bus routes 208 and 336.
- A232 Croydon Road, Bromley: A tree down at Five Elms Road has partially blocked the road in both directions, leading to traffic build-up and congestion back to the A21 Farnborough Common. Temporary traffic lights are being used.
- Waters Road, Beckenham: This road is also partially blocked by a fallen tree. The obstruction spans between Verdant Lane and Battersby Road, with a detour arranged for bus 124.
