Knife Fight in South London Leads to Arrests of Teenager and Elderly Man
Two individuals, a teenager and a man in his mid-70s, got arrested and rushed to the hospital following a knife fight in South London. Police quickly responded to reports of two men with knives in the area of Brigstock Road in Thornton Heath.
The Met Police found a 17-year-old and an elderly man with stab and ‘slash’ injuries at the scene. They promptly took both to the hospital, and fortunately, medical professionals deemed their conditions as non-life-threatening.
A spokesperson for the Met Police informed MyLondon, “Police received a call at 08:45hrs on Monday, 24th July, reporting two males carrying a knife on Brigstock Road in Thornton Heath.
“Officers attended and discovered a 17-year-old male with a stab injury. He was transported to a South London hospital by the London Ambulance Service, and his condition is not life-threatening.
The hospital staff praised the swift action of the emergency services, stating that the quick response played a crucial role in ensuring the victims received timely medical attention and are expected to make a full recovery.
“A man in his mid-70s was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening slash injuries.
“Both have been arrested on suspicion of GBH, affray, and possession of an offensive weapon. Enquiries are ongoing.”
